Hi Free Spirits, I have been sitting with a question lately. What does it really mean to be good? I grew up believing that being good meant being agreeable. Not rocking the boat. Making things easier. Wanting less so no one felt uncomfortable. No one spelled this out for me. I learned it through praise. Through tone. Through what was rewarded. For a long time, it worked. I was flexible. Reliable. Easy to like. Until the cost showed up. Exhaustion that sleep did not fix. Choices that looked right on paper but felt wrong in my body. A quiet resentment I could not explain. The belief finally cracked when I noticed something unexpected. The moments I felt most like myself were often the moments I was slightly inconvenient. Saying no. Changing my mind. Choosing without consensus. That was the turning point. I realized my version of being “good” had very little to do with integrity and everything to do with compliance. Letting go did not happen in one bold moment. It happened in small experiments. Pausing before agreeing. Allowing disappointment. Letting things be messier than I was taught they should be. And the world did not fall apart. Some people adjusted. Some did not. But I felt more grounded than ever. Flying upstream did not make me louder. It made me more honest. And for the first time, it included myself. If this resonates, our newest episode explores exactly this shift.

🎧 Listen to the show Hi Free Spirit! Pressure shows up quietly. Society loves a timeline. Graduate by this age. Build by that age. Partner by then. Earn more. Move faster. Catch up. But whose clock are you racing? Comparison creates the illusion that success has a universal deadline. It does not. Real success...
